Around 1995-1996, Jim Bell came up with the idea of Assassination Politics, a system for anonymously funding political assassinations using cryptography and digital money. In 2017, Jim Bell gave a talk on this topic at Paralelní Polis.
However, a lot has changed in last years, smart-contracts ecosystem is maturing, and so prediction markets. After 30 years since Jim introduced his concept, these technologies are becoming widely available and are being used by millions of people.
With real uses, many questions arise. Is it dangerous? If so, what do we do about it?
